| June 13, 2018 1:00 AM

The “no wake speed limit” placed on the Pend Oreille River in Pend Oreille County, Wash., has been removed. The current level of the river is 2,040.28 feet as measured at the Cusick gauging station and is expected to continue going lower.

The “no wake speed limit” is implemented as required in the Pend Oreille County Boating Safety Ordinance No. 2001-01, as revised July 8, 2002. Under the ordinance, whenever the elevation at the Cusick gauging station is at or exceeds 2041, the no-wake speed limit is imposed. Under the ordinance, wake speed is defined as a slow speed producing no wake and further does not exceed 5 mph.
