Student graduates

Logan Owens of Newport graduated from the University of San Diego on May 27. Owens earned a bachelor’s degree in business economics.

Owens participated in the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at USD and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps on May 25 and reported to The Basic School in Quantico, Va.

With more than 8,000 students from 77 countries and 44 states, USD is the youngest, independent institution on the U.S. News & World Report list of top 100 universities in the U.S.
