Wake surfing, wake boarding and water ski classes offered

SANDPOINT — Get ready to surf Sandpoint with Action Water Sports, hitting the water on one of the best boats in town, as a wake surfing class is offered on Tuesday, June 26 from 3-6 p.m. for anyone between the ages of 10-18 years-old.

Each participant will get 20 minutes in the water, and no experience is needed with beginners to advanced all welcome.

Instructors will go over the basics, from getting up out of the water to surface spins and airs for the advanced riders. Meet at AWS (100 N. 1st Ave.) 30 min before class starts.

The cost is $30 ($2 city discount), and participants must register online by June 24.

Also offered is a chance to learn the basics of wake boarding or water skiing with the best instructors in town. Action Water Sports will teach participants ages 10-18 how to get up out of the water on skis or a board. Instructors will teach the basics of making turns in and out of the wake, to jumping the wake for the more advanced riders. Each rider will get 20 minutes in the water per session. No experience is needed; all skill levels are welcome.

This class runs from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27. Make-up sessions for weather will be held on June 29 if needed. Participants are to meet at AWS (100 N. 1st Ave) 30 minutes before the class starts. The class fee is $30 ($2 city discount) and AWS can take a minimum of two and maximum of six participants per class, so register early to guarantee your spot.
