Local nonprofits receive ICF grants

The Idaho Community Foundation’s Northern Region Grant Panel has selected 86 north Idaho nonprofit organizations to receive more than $226,000 through its annual competitive grant cycle. Of those, three nonprofits in western Bonner County received over $10,000.

Grant recipients are from Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce and Shoshone counties.

Those receiving grants from western Bonner County are:

- Bonner Community Food Center, Inc. – $3,500 to purchase non-perishable staple food products for low-income households that are food insecure.

- Priest River Ministries Inc. – $4,000 to assist families affected by violence by providing shelter, advocacy, education, transportation, education, childcare, food, clothing, paralegal assistance, counseling and therapy.

- West Bonner County School District #83 – $3,000 to purchase books and provide them for free to kindergarten through sixth-grade students at Idaho Hill Elementary School.
