Prophet donation will 'catify' shelter room

PONDERAY — Cade Prophet Memorial Productions is donating $2,000 to the Panhandle Animal Shelter.

The proceeds were generated when the play “P.S. Your Cat is Dead” was staged at the Heartwood Center in Sandpoint last month.

Prophet, 25, died in an accident at Palouse Falls State Park in 2017. Prophet was an ardent supporter of the Panhandle Animal Shelter and loved cats.

Shelter officials said the funds would be used to “catify” a cat room with custom climbing trees, ramps and hidey-holes — improvements meant to make the room less sterile and more fun for cats and humans alike.

“Helping to celebrate the wonderful news are the staff, volunteers, Critter Camp children, and, of course, the cats and kittens available for adoption,” Panhandle Animal Shelter officials said in a statement “Thank you, Dorothy Finigan Prophet. Thank you, CPMP team and thank you, Cade, and your love of cats!”

Cade Prophet Memorial Productions next play is scheduled for October.
