PONDERAY — The theft of a local construction company’s trailer was brought to a swift end on Thursday.

Ponderay Police sought the public’s help in finding the 14-foot, single-axle trailer, which is owned by Harlicker Construction. It was taken from the Starr Lane area on Wednesday evening and was subsequently observed on a surveillance camera being pulled by a black, extended-cab pickup truck at 6:54 p.m.

The Sandpoint Police Department put up post about the heist on its Facebook page to aid the Ponderay Police investigation.

Harlicker was offering a $2,000 cash reward for information on the trailer’s whereabouts and the identity of the person seen in the driver’s seat of the pickup.

Within hours of the post going up, Kelly Harlicker posted that the thief had been apprehended.

“We got the bad guys!! A million thanks to BCSO and PPD!!” Harlicker said, referring to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office and Ponderay Police.

The identities of the suspected culprits was not released on Thursday.
