Synchronized swimming classes offered at City Beach

| June 30, 2018 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Come and try the newest fun water activity at scenic City Beach, as Sandpoint Parks and Rec is offering outdoor synchronized swimming classes every Tuesday, from July 10 through Aug. 4, from 4-5 p.m. each day.

If you like dancing, gymnastics and swimming this activity combines them all. It uses the grace of dance and the power of gymnastics in the water to perform fun skills like somersaults, walkovers, oysters, torpedo sculls and more. Goggles and nose plugs are recommended.

Participants must be age 9 years or older and have the ability to competently float, submerge in deep water, and swim 25 meters each stroke — front crawl and breaststroke.

The class fee is $43/session ($5 in-city limit discount), and participants will meet at the City Beach in front of the Snack Shack. There is a minimum of four and a maximum of 10 participants in this class, so register early to guarantee your spot. The online registration deadline is July 6, and can be found at www.sandpointidaho.gov/parksrecreation.
