MCS announces summer camp

SANDPOINT — Looking for an out-of-this-world experience for your children this summer? Look no further. Music Conservatory of Sandpoint has announced their summer camp schedule and this year it has a Star Wars’ based theme that all kids will love: Galactic Journey.

“We’re looking forward to taking music to a whole new level,” MCS executive director Karin Wedemeyer said. “Maybe even to a whole new universe! The exciting thing is that this spacey, galactic theme will be incorporated into the music, concerts and general events of the week.”

Children eight years old and older are encouraged to drop their light sabers and pick up sheet music or a script for a lifetime experience that will broaden their knowledge while becoming a Jedi of performing arts. These stars will brighten up the earth at recitals concluding each camp.

“Prices range from $95 to $145 for a week of camp and early bird registration $10 discount is open until March 1. As always, scholarships are available,” Wedemeyer said.

The summer schedule is as follows:

- Theater Camp — July 9-20, from 9 a.m. to noon.

- Piano Camp — July 16-20, from 9 a.m. to noon.

- Choir and Voice Camp — July 16-20, from 9 a.m. to noon.

- Orchestra Camp Full Day — Aug. 6-10, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

- Orchestra Camp Half Day — Aug. 6-10, 9 a.m. to noon.
