Each year, First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint holds a Souper Bowl Challenge on Super Bowl Sunday. Congregants vote with cans of food for the team they think will win. Voting was pretty even this year, but the Eagles received more cans of food than the Patriots.
The Souper Bowl of Caring is a national movement that utilizes Super Bowl Weekend. Its purpose is to mobilize youth and adults to raise money and food for local charities. Schools, congregations of all faiths, service organization, clubs, and businesses come together in this effort. More information can be found at souperbowl.org.
