Republicans have a wide array of choices for our District 1 congressman on May 15; but for me, it’s an easy decision. For me, Michael Snyder is the clear choice to represent us in Congress. Examining his positions, one can find many reasons to send him to Washington. I’d like to share just a couple that mean a lot to me.

Many debate whether the federal government has the right to restrict or allow abortion. However, as a prolife individual I find it both disturbing and frustrating that my tax dollars are funneled by the federal government, without my consent, to an organization whose history, mission, and practices I find completely reprehensible. I appreciate Michael’s pledge to vote against any funding for Planned Parenthood.

Gun control is a hot button topic these days, with many “pro-gun” Republicans taking about “common sense gun control measures.” Yet few are willing to discuss whether any of these current or proposed measures fall within the delegated responsibilities of our federal government. That’s where Michael stands out from his pro-gun opponents. In his own words, “I will fight to eliminate all federal firearms acts, which violate the U.S. Constitution.”
