PR Library packed with fun events
Area teens are invited to Teens Code @ the Library, an after-hours event at the Priest River Library. Stephanie Davis of Kaniksu Technology will teach the teens from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, to build a galaxy using code.
Davis will be using the Minecraft Hour of Code platform to give teens the opportunity to explore coding and its connection to the real world. Teens will learn about Java Script, coding and computer science while expanding computer skills in a fun and exciting way. The program is open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required as space is limited.
In addition, and just in time for Easter, artist Lynn Walters will be at the Priest River branch to lead a Live & Learn class on traditional Ukrainian Pysanky egg decorating. Utilizing a wax-and-dye process and a small funnel called a kistka, participants will learn how to design and create their own decorative eggs. The class is open to ages 12 and up will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 2 p.m. There is a $5 materials fee. The class size is limited to 10, so please register early.
