In their efforts to justify the right to own and use AK-45 assault rifles under the Second Amendment, the gun nuts and possibly the Supreme Court forget that when the Constitution was written, assault rifles did not exist. The only long guns used were muskets, and soldiers who were trained daily in reloading their guns could accomplish that complicated procedure in about fifteen seconds.
Since Australia has had remarkable success in eliminating mass shootings after enacting their gun laws, we should adopt those laws here. And vote out any senator or congressperson that objects or accepts a nickels worth of contributions from the NRA. And if the Supreme Court won’t buy the logic of it all, then our congress people will have to prepare a Constitutional amendment and send it to the states for ratification.
We the people are overwhelmingly in favor of it.
