BONNERS FERRY — A pair of strong pitching gems from Tyrone Larson and Tristan Authier, and the hot bats of Tyler Lehman and Trey Flint combined to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1, 14-3 doubleheader sweep of the Badgers on Thursday in nonleague baseball at Bonners Ferry High School.

Larson spun a complete game three hitter, striking out seven in seven sharp innings to earn his first win of the season in the opener.

Alex Stockton had an RBI double and scored a run to lead the Bulldogs (5-1), who managed only four hits in the opener as both pitchers were dealing. Will Parr struck out nine in seven innings in defeat, as Larson won the pitcher’s duel with Hunter Donahoe calling a great game behind the dish.

Authier struck out five in four innings of work in the second game, allowing just two hits and a walk to hold the Badgers (3-2) to just one run.

Flint went 4-4 at the plate, with two RBIs and three runs scored, and Lehman was 3-3 with three runs and three RBIs, as the Bulldogs pounded out six doubles in the second game. Trailing 1-0 heading into the third, the Bulldogs erupted for six runs in the third and five in the fourth to blow the game open. Thomas Riley had three RBIs, Pettit drove in two and Billy Brackett scored three times in the five-inning, 10-run rule game.
