Timberwolves blank Bulldogs
COEUR d’ALENE — Emma Gray hit a three-run homer and Haley Loffer, one of three seniors honored on senior day, added a two-run single as the Timberwolves beat the visiting Bulldogs 10-0 in nonleague softball on Thursday.
Bri Baldree had two hits for Sandpoint (7-9), and went the distance on the mound.
“Our defense actually played a lot better than we have. It was really positive to see such a great defensive effort going into the post season, especially the play in the outfield of Isabel Edwards and Audree Mattila,” said Bulldogs head coach Elizabeth Hawkins-Williams. “Tanis Davis and Kaitlan Ward made a lot of solid plays on ground balls in the infield.”
Sandpoint opens regionals Tuesday at 3 p.m. vs. Moscow at Lakeland High. The winner plays Lakeland at 5 p.m..
