Dennis Engelhardt is the right person to become the county assessor to replace Jerry Clemons upon his retirement.

Dennis is the only candidate who has met with me on several occasions to learn as much as possible about the office and the job. Dennis has read and studied Idaho Code and rules as applies to the assessor position as well as office policies.

He has vast experience in the management of over 200 employees and a budget of over $6 million. No other candidate has that kind of managerial experience. Remember that the assessor’s job is not that of an appraiser but rather employee management, budgets, laws and relationships with the taxpayers, other departments and the Idaho Tax Commission.

The assessor’s job is not as an appraiser because we have 16 certified appraisers in the office to do the appraising.

The assessors job is to manage a staff of 30 employees, create and manage the budget of over $6 million, get it approved, maintain working relationships with the public and other governmental agencies, make sure fair assessment are mailed out in a timely manner attend Board of Equalization hearings and state hearings

I will be retiring and I feel certain that Dennis Egelhardt is the best qualified person to become the new assessor.
