I read the letter from one Emma Carter with great humor. Seems she is upset because a letter writer suggested that people change their affiliation so they can vote for a Republican of lesser conservative. That is interesting in itself but nevertheless, over the years, those who vote across party are so slim. Then the Republican party decided they were going to run their own show along with us and barred all the rest of us from voting for their persons. For every Democrat that switched, there were at least 25 or more of those who can’t stand either party … who now cannot vote, unless we hold our noses and say we are a Republican for the day. The county calls me an unaffiliated voter; I call myself a Cafeteria Party voter … walking through, picking the person and not the party.
Oh, by the way, I do like Dan McDonald as he has gone into the bowels of Sandpoint Forum and tried to bring reason and true to the flying of accusations of different subjects about the county. He has handled it without malice and name calling. That takes a lot on that forum …so he will get my vote. Hope you make it through the mess, Dan.
