In a recent letter Mr. Bangle, former chair of the Banner County Republican Central Committee, describes Mike Boeck as a stand-up Republican who’s been consistently elected as precinct committeeman in Wrenco precinct.
It’s been years since Mr. Bangle has been a member of the BCRCC and even longer since he’s been chair. He may therefore be forgiven for not being informed on Mike Boeck’s record as a precinct committeeman.
Boeck was appointed to the position in late 2011 and re-elected by his precinct’s voters ever since, but they are probably unaware of his abysmal record of representing them: he was a no-show at approximately 85 percent of the monthly BCRCC meetings where he would have been their voice. In one year alone he missed 11, in another five in a row, and so on. He failed to even provide a proxy for most of them, for which he was nearly removed from the committee for consistently violating the bylaws.
It wasn’t until he declared his candidacy for state representative that he suddenly began attending meetings.
So this fourth generation Idahoan, as he likes to tout himself, could not be bothered to properly represent his constituents as a precinct committeeman — the grassroots level of our Republican form of government — and now wants to be our representative in the Idaho Legislature.
When Kandy Brumley in her letter to the editor called him a slacker, she was on the mark.
Vote Heather Scott on May 15.
