I attended the KRFY candidate forum on Wednesday and was particularly impressed with Mike Boeck, who is running against incumbent Heather Scott, for state representative. He was the only candidate who spoke to the biggest problem we face today — the unnecessary divisiveness that defines local and national politics. Instead of looking for a “cause,” Mr. Boeck appears to be interested in talking to people about issues — whether he agrees with them or not. That is the one trait I value above all others in an elected official.

Most of us, myself included, want to vote for someone who is on our “side.” I believe that it is the responsibility of voters to look beyond sides, and evaluate candidates on their ability to represent ALL constituents. Mike Boeck is that candidate.
