Donna Gow is the most qualified and experienced person to be Bonner County Assessor. I have worked with Donna for over 25 years and have great respect for her appraisal knowledge, understanding and implementation of appraisal practices. Having good management skills is a requirement, but having good appraisal knowledge is imperative. If you do not have a strong solid background in appraising, understanding the taxation process and the procedures and the skills to work with the Idaho State Taxation Department, then you cannot be an effective assessor.
The current assessor was elected based on management skills. As is evident with the pending class action lawsuits, lack of understanding of appraisal practices has, and is, costing the county and citizens time and money.
Donna has over 27 years of knowledge and experience in all aspects of appraising, understanding the State Taxation Commission, the Idaho State Code and Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice. With this experience she knows how to correct inadequate appraisal practices used for the past several years.
If you want change vote for Donna Gow and a significant change. If you want things to continue in the same manner with inadequate knowledge and training, then vote for the candidates claiming to have good management skills while having no appraisal knowledge.
Think of it this way, would you take your car to a dentist for repairs because they have good management skills?
