Mike Boeck
1: As a life-long Republican, I am running to bring effective representation back to District 1.
2: Professional forester with over 45 years’ experience in managing our natural resources.
Retired military officer trained in engineering and experienced in building infrastructure.
Managed manufacturing facilities with knowledge of workforce needs.
Experienced working with civic organizations to enhance our quality of life and citizens committees to improve our public education.
3. Although, this is out of our jurisdiction I am concerned about the effects it may have on our communities. The chosen site is not appropriate for this industry. If it is shown the effects of this operation are half as bad as the critics claim I will not support it.
4. I see the dramatic increase in population will put stress on our infrastructure and our ability to maintain our traditional way of life.
5. No one issue. We need solutions for stabilizing our education funding and relieving our property taxpayers. More emphasis placed on career technical education to keep our kids here and provide workforce needs. Find funding solutions for the backlog of repair and maintenance needs of our roads and bridges.
6. The fact that I have received support from a very broad base of interests to include Democrats and moderates. My response is an effective representative must have a broad base of support. You will represent all the folks in the district not just one small segment.
7. I am a conservative common-sense Republican you can trust.
8. Scotchman Peak is a natural wilderness. Some areas I question as suitable. They include previously logged and roaded areas. This is a federal decision but one we all have a chance to vote on. Senator Risch has stated he will be guided by this advisory vote I share this commitment.
9. I will work to close the gap. I will work with whatever the initiative process may bring but the real issue is the skyrocketing increase in health care costs and the inability of wages and benefits to keep up. I will work to improve the health care for all Idahoans.
10. The question I was asked when I took my military oath of office. Do you solemnly swear to “… support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and … bare true faith and allegiance to the same”.
My answer remains YES!
