WORLEY — Clark Fork senior Wade Stevens shaved 12 strokes off his previous day’s score with a blazing 81, posting a two-day score of 174 to finish 24th out of 64 boys on Tuesday at the 2A Idaho State Golf Championships at Circling Raven Golf Course.

Junior Brooke Stevens also had a much better second day at state, carding a 96 to shave 10 strokes off her previous round, finishing 11th among 44 girls with a score of 202.

“They both came out today more relaxed and more focused. I’m proud of the way they bounced back and had to have the best rounds of golf for the season,” said Wampus Cats head coach Brian Arthun. “Wade had a great career for our golf program. He made it to state twice. I’m really looking forward to Brook’s senior season. After back to back state appearances, I’m looking for big things from Brooke next year.”

For the Sandpoint boys, who played in the 4A tournament at Stoneridge, senior Lake Wilks shot a second consecutive 80 for a two day score of 160, while senior teammate Nick Crowley shot 89 for a two day total of 173 to end the season.
