Pend d’Oreille Review

May 17, 1918 — THE SON OF A HUN

In years to come, tales will be told of deeds of “Sammies” brave and bold, who fought to crush the rule of one - Kaiser Bill, the son of a Hun.

For he it was who set the pace to kill off all the human race, except, of course, his “place in the sun” - Old Kaiser Bill - the son of a Hun.

Of all the crimes yet known to men, and all the wrongs he did again to conquered foes - there isn’t one like Kaiser Bill’s, the son of a Hun.

Who so fiendishly - wholly vile - so barbarous, savage, all the while, as that old tyrant of Verdun - Old Kaiser Bill, the son of a Hun.

We speak of devilish folks on earth as those whom Satan gave their birth, and oft call each “a son of a gun,” but Kaiser Bill is “a son of a Hun;”

Which means today, where’er he’s known, Old Kaiser Bill is “the Devil’s own.”
