John Haupert, 85 years young, went to join our heavenly father on May 7, 2018.
He was born in Barrett, Minnesota, on Dec. 18, 1932, to Aelred and Alice Haupert. He became the oldest of 12 siblings, eight boys and four girls.
After graduating high school and agricultural school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1952 until 1956. After that he worked at the 3M in Minnesota. Then he worked at SCI and MPI computers as a test engineer for computer equipment. He married his wife Brenda in 1979. They lived in Rapid City, South Dakota, for 16 years.
After retiring as a test engineer, they moved to Sagle, Idaho. He was the stepfather of six children, Cheri (Gale) Belgarde, Patty (Jeff) Triplett, Stacey (Charlie) Snyder, Suzanne Bonner, Dan Bonner, and Kathy Oliver. He was a loving and caring grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was an avid do-it-youselfer. He enjoyed his time helping at the Sagle Senior Center and the thrift store. He attended New Song Bible Church and had the privilege of raising a grandson, Dakota from 2000 until 2017. He was proceeded in death by his parents; a brother, Dick; and stepdaughter, Kathy.
Later in the summer, the family will have a celebration of life with family and friends.
We love you so much John. We will miss you always, you were an important part of our family. Rest in peace until we meet again.
