Bulldogs win matches at state tennis

BOISE — They won several matches, but in the end, none of the seven Bulldogs competing at the 4A state tennis tournament in Boise were able to advance to the second day of play.

Junior Allura Livingston lost 7-5, 6-1 to Idaho Falls in the first round, bounced back to beat Middleton in straight sets in consolation, then lost 6-2, 6-4 to end her tourney and show great improvement over last season as the level jumps a ton at state.

Sophomore Jenny Slaveck lost 6-4, 6-2 to Vallivue, bounced back to beat Idaho Falls 6-4, 6-3, before falling 6-0, 6-0 to Idaho Falls. Alana Seifert was the third Bulldog girl in action, falling 6-0, 6-2 to Bishop Kelly, and 6-1, 6-2 to Burley.

Seniors April and Amy Clark lost their opener in girls doubles 6-1, 6-2 to Idaho Falls, scored a 6-4, 6-4 win over Burley in Consolation, then fell in a tight match 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 to Twin Falls.

Rounding out the Bulldogs in action were Tessa Beeman and Noah Hastings in mixed doubles, as the pair fell 6-4, 6-2 to Ridgevue, bounced back to down Wood River 6-3, 6-4, then were eliminated by Century 6-3, 6-1.
