John Beecher Knapp, 70

John Beecher Knapp, 70, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Clark Fork, Idaho. Private family services have been held.

John was born on December 27, 1947, in Seattle, Wash., to Harold and Donna Knapp. He grew up and attended schools in Lake City, Wash.

He always had a love of music and was influenced by bands like the Beatles. John was a stone mason and worked with his father in Knapp Masonry. He also was a sailor, worked for NOAA surveying the ocean from Washington to Alaska.

John married Cindy Neil in 1968 in Seattle. They had two children and moved to Clark Fork in 1976. During his music career he had the opportunity to play with the Wellington Five, Mynx, Gayle Rose Band, Danny Dee & the Black Water Jubilee, and David Riatt & the Baha Boogie Band. He also enjoyed his Harley, hunting, fishing and was a talented artist.

He is survived by his daughter ,Dawn (Brady) McCoy of Mill Creek, Wash.; son Jon Knapp of Seattle; three grandchildren, Brenden, Kyle, and Karlee; three sisters, Kathy (Dan) Montgomery of Heron, Chris (Gus) Pearson of Clark Fork, and Carrie (Jim) Johnson of Helena; three brothers, Larry (Valerie) Knapp of Coeur d’Alene, Alan Knapp of Clark Fork, and Tim Knapp of Clark Fork; and numerous nieces and nephews.
