Virginia (Ginger) Louise Kohal, 80
Virginia (Ginger) Louise Kohal passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 15, 2018, at the age of 80. Services will be held at 11am Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Coffelt Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy will be officiating the service. There will be a gathering after at Oden Hall.
Ginger was born on July 26, 1937, in Sandpoint, Idaho, the fourth of five children to Emil and Louise (Hanson) Anderson. She attended Kootenai Elementary and graduated from Sandpoint High School.
She married Ronald on July 29, 1955 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and resided in Kootenai, Idaho, for the length of their 62-year marriage, where they raised their family just three houses down from her childhood home.
Ginger drove kids to Head Start in the 1970s as well as volunteering her time over the years at local senior centers and thrift stores and she also belonged to the Kootenai Birthday Club. If you stopped by a yard sale you were likely to see her there buying “treasures.” She looked forward to her Seattle trips visiting family, often bringing along a grandkid or two. She also enjoyed painting ceramics, making ceramic dolls, playing bunco and going to craft or doll shows. When she could, she attended many grandkids and then great-grandkids functions to show her love and support. Ginger cared greatly about others, visiting when she could.
Ginger leaves behind her husband, Ronald; Betty Kohal, Pam (Mike) Rogers, Bob Kohal, Lorri (Lyle) Belgarde, Jeff (Bridgette) Kohal; 16 grandkids, 32 great-grandkids and many more extended family and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Randy and Billy Kohal; brothers, Myrvin (Bill) and Emil Anderson; and sisters, MaryAnn Edwards and Edna Poston.
Ginger will be truly missed by her family and by all who were fortunate to know and love her.
Family and friends are invited to sign Virginia’s online guestbook at coffeltfuneral.com.
