| May 27, 2018 1:00 AM

DOVER — City officials are invited community residents to join them for Dover’s Arbor Day celebration to help clean up and beautify the city’s native plant gardens.

The event will be held Friday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dover City Park and entry to Dover City Hall.

Those interested are reminded to bring their garden gloves as well as hand tools, rakes, shovels, buckets, clippers, and loppers and be ready to join their neighbors in the beautification effort.

Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please call 208-265-8339 for more information about this event or if they have something in particular they’d like to offer in the way of goods or services.

Dover is the recipient of a grant offered by the Idaho Nursery and Landscape Association, in cooperation with the Idaho Department of Lands, Avista, Idaho Power and Rocky Mountain Power.

Dover Mayor Annie Shaha signed a proclamation recognizing Friday, June 1, as Arbor Day in the city of Dover. In the proclamation, she encouraged all citizens to celebrate and support efforts to protect the area’s trees and woodlands and promote the well-being of this and future generations.
