Rosemary Godec-Bertnick, 87

Rosemary Frances Godec-Bertnick, 87, of Chisholm, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, in Chisholm. She was born September 18, 1931, in Greaney, Minn., to Floryan and Frances (Ruper) Udovich.

Rosemary was a longtime Chisholm resident, was active in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church Choir in Greaney, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm. She loved cooking and baking — especially potica for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and dancing the polka.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Charlene (Larry Roketa) Godec, Gloria (Teeto Kavolich) Godec, Mary Jo (Forrest Schuck) Godec, and John Godec; her grandchildren, Augie (Rachel), Morgan (Crosby), and Justin (Sara); her great-grandchildren, Tacey, Vivian, Willow, and Gavin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Rudolph Godec; her second husband, John Bertnick; and her “sweetie” of many years, Ron Frederick; and five brothers and four sisters.

Rose’s family would like to thank all of the wonderful people who assisted them in caring for her over the past four years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel in Chisholm. Fr. Anthony Craig will officiate.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Chisholm Cemetery.
