PONDERAY — Sweet Lou’s Restaurants are saluting the troops by offering all current and former members of the US armed forces a free, hand-cut, six-ounce, USDA choice top sirloin with one side on Veterans Day.

“The entire team at Sweet Lou’s looks forward to this day every year,” Chad Foust, owner of Sweet Lou’s, said. “It’s an honor to serve our local heroes.”

This will be the eighth year Foust is offering a free steak to veterans. Last year the business gave almost 350 lunches and dinners to service men and women. Over the years, Foust estimates he has given away close to 2,000 steaks.

“It’s an honor to be able to give them something to recognize their dedication to the country,” Foust said. “I plan on doing this as long as I can.”

To redeem your Veterans Day special, you must present valid military ID. The offer is good for dine-in only and will only be available on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Sweet Lou’s Restaurant and Bar is located at 477272 Highway 95 in Ponderay and Sweet Lou’s Restaurant and Tap House is at 601 N. Front St. in Coeur d’Alene. Both locations are open seven days a week from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
