Judy Rae Harris, 67

| November 10, 2018 12:00 AM

Judy Rae Harris passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at the age of 67 in Burien, Washington.

She was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Oct. 13, 1951, to Luverne Savage and William Raynor, both of whom preceded her in death. Judy grew up in Sandpoint and was a 1969 graduate of Sandpoint High School.

Judy was an avid skier and worked at Schweitzer Basin for several years. She then attended North Idaho College for nursing and worked at Bonner General Hospital before moving to Seattle to work as a registered nurse at Harborview Medical Center. She worked over 20 years at Harborview in the orthopedic and epilepsy units. Judy was proud of her work at Harborview and she developed many friendships in the nursing field over the course of her career.

In her retirement, she enjoyed cooking, spending time with loved ones, and cheering on her favorite teams, the Seattle Mariners and Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Above all else, though, was how much she cherished her loved ones. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her children and grandchildren were her world and she loved sharing stories with others about how proud she was of them. She also shared a special bond with her two sisters that she treasured.

She is survived by her children, Shane Harris and his wife, Moleena, Brittany Howard (Harris) and her husband, Scott; her three grandchildren, Logan and Kylie Howard, and Crosby Harris; her two sisters, Karen Stewart (Savage) and her husband Larry, Kay Bugger (Savage) and her husband Charles; and her brother Daniel Savage and his wife Cherie; nine nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family would like to thank Hospice for their generous care of Judy at the end of her life.

A celebration of Judy’s life will take place in Sandpoint at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Judy’s name to a local Hospice organization.
