TU chapter hosts annual meeting

| November 13, 2018 12:00 AM

The Panhandle Chapter of Trout Unlimited invites the public to join them for their annual meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at DiLuna’s Café, 207 Cedar St., in Sandpoint. A social time will begin at 5 p.m. followed by a no-host dinner at 6 p.m.

Dr. Francine Mejia, U.S. Geological Survey, will give a presentation on a Priest River Water Temperature Monitoring Project that she led last August. Volunteers floated the entire length of the Priest River in one day recording water temperatures. One of the objectives included locating pockets of cold water where trout could seek refuge from the almost lethally warm summer water temperatures.
