SANDPOINT — Rounding the corner into some serious holiday action this week, starting with a pair of holiday one-act original plays on stage at the Panida Thursday-Sunday.

Tonight, CASA holds a big fundraiser purse party at Pend d’Oreille Winery and Friday and Saturday, POAC presents the Moscow-based Runaway Symphony in concert at the Pearl Theater and the Heartwood Center, respectively.

Saturday and Sunday bring the Bonner County Fairgrounds Christmas Fair and next Wed., Matchwood Brewing brings The Powers to town for a Thanksgiving Eve show at their new venue.

Thursday, Nov. 15

Two Holiday One-Act Plays

Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Unknown Locals & the Panida Playhouse Players team up for two heartwarming comedy one-act stage productions. Left at the altar at her Thanksgiving wedding, Chloe decides to keep her honeymoon suite and make the best of it. Or will she, if her ex-shows up thinking the same thing in “Thanks a Lot.”

As Christmas gets closer, Sam has confidence that this coming eve just might be the night he proves why he is a “True Believer.”

These Two One Act plays of mistaken identity and pure faith will be showing for one weekend only.

Admission: $14 adults, $10 youth, available at Eve’s Leaves and online at panida.org

Truck Mills Quartet

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 9 p.m.

Northwest guitarist Truck Mills and his supporting cask of local musicians Andrew Browne, Mick Taylor and Tito Huizar. Mills and his band are master musicians who play a wide variety of music, ranging from blues with a jazz gospel flair to rock ‘n roll.

Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

Devon Wade

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m.

He’s an independent country music artist with a strong love for what country music has always been - songs about real life.

Venue: Bonner County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building, 4203 N. Boyer Road, in Sandpoint.

Check off some names on your gift-giving list during this holiday shopping extravaganza. Shop for handmade gifts and unique crafts, check out the treats and coffee, plus there will be kids’ activities and Christmas fun! Santa visits from noon to 2 p.m.

‘Drink In History’

Venue: Bonner County History Museum, 611 S. Ella Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 2-5 p.m.

Sandpoint has an interesting history full of murder, mayhem, and prohibition. Join this colorful tour, which stops for a drink at each stop!

Admission: Cost is $40 per person, which includes the tour, a drink at each location, and a special gift. You must be a museum member to participate, so visit bonnercountyhistory.org to join.

Sadie & Desiree

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301, Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 5-8 p.m.

Gather some friends and allow Sadie’s voice and Desiree’s piano music to carry you away.

November Doubles Cornhole Tourney

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 312 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: Registration ends at 12:30 p.m., first toss at 1 p.m.

Cornhole kings and queens will be taking to the four regulation indoor brewery courts, or outside if no rain.

Set up to test your tossin’ abilities in a double elimination tournament! They’re capping it to 32 teams, so sign up early.

Register via phone at 208-209-6700, by dropping in days before or day of at 11 a.m. (that’s when the doors open).

Admission: $10 per person or $20 buy-in per team for those 21 and over.

The Letter ‘B’

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Ever since its inception in 2013 in Missoula, Montana, Letter B has never stopped. Born from a thought and a beat, a cadence and a rhyme — a bouncing ball bellowing under the big sky — the folk/rock/indie-hip-pop group draws inspiration from the likes of the Dave Matthews Band, Atmosphere and Ray Lamontagne to blend its down-home roots with a global perspective.

Lavoy

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Making their 219 debut, Lavoy, a five-piece Spokane-based alt-pop and indie band, blend and layer hints of modern alt-pop and 1980s nostalgia. Since their polished synth-laden take on dance party rhetoric hit the airwaves in early 2014, the charismatic collective have brought new meaning to the term ‘entertainment’, while the unassuming audience finds themselves persuaded into letting the movement take over and soon realize they’ve given way to the alluring sound.

Based out of Coeur d’Alene, this featured band of the Festival at Sandpoint has a delightful mix of parts — from dynamic harmonies with acoustic guitar to banjos fighting with fiddles! Plus, neighbors, friends, and family are invited to create gratitude ornaments decorated with notes or depiction of things you are grateful for to hang on a seasonal ‘Gratitude Tree’ through the holidays.
