ILA names scholarship winners

Each year, the Idaho Library Association awards excellence in the form of professional recognition awards and scholarships. This year, the awards were presented Oct. 4, at the ILA Annual Conference Awards Ceremony and Banquet at the University Inn/Best Western in Moscow.

Among the awards given were:

The Idaho Library Association Scholarship – This scholarship as awarded to Suzanne Davis, Children’s Librarian at the East Bonner County Library. She is using the scholarship to help fund her MLS degree at the University of North Texas.

Paraprofessional of the Year – This award, which recognizes outstanding service to the library profession in a capacity other than as a traditional librarian, was given to Amanda Ruff, IT Services Coordinator at the East Bonner County Library District. Ruff is also working on an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology.

Librarian of the Year – This award was given to Ann Nichols, director of the East Bonner County Public Library. Nichols received high commendations from nominators for her efforts with a recently completed library expansion, excellent customer service, and successful fundraising efforts.
