Harold E. Oens

Harold E. Oens was called home on Nov. 8, 2018, at the age of 80.

He was born to Vergie and Miles Oens in Hunters, Washington, on Dec. 14, 1937. He graduated from Columbia High School and served in the Army Reserve. He attended Eastern Washington College and Columbia Basic College. He worked for U.S. Testing, Westing-house and Flora Daniels at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Richland, Washington.

He was always willing to help where needed and belong to the Sandpoint American Legion, was an honorary member of the Newport Priest River Rotary, Sandpoint United Methodist Church, and served for nine years as president of the Sour-dough Point Owners Associa-tion.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, in Sagle, Idaho; her sons, Michael and Martin Hendrickson; a son, Mark Allen Oens in Everett, Washington; six grandchildren, a sister, Anna Laughbon, in Spokane, Washington; and two brothers, Frank in Ohio and George in Medical Lake, Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.

Per his wishes, there will not be a service and burial will be at the Hunters cemetery.
