Christmas tree lighting is today

SANDPOINT — Welcome St. NIck and help kick off the holiday season at Friday’s community Christmas tree lighting.

The fun begins at 5 p.m. at Jeff Jones Town Square with soup from five local restaurants, s’more roasting, and performances by the Allegro Dance Studio. In addition, cider, hot chocolate, coffee and snacks will be served.

At 6 p.m., officials will flip the switch and light up Sandpoint’s Christmas tree as Santa arrives by fire truck.
