Friends help stretch donations

Giving Tuesday is an annual global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is on Nov. 27. It kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

The Sandpoint Friends of the Library want to help stretch your Giving Tuesday and end of year donations. Between now and Dec. 31, the Friends will match your donations to The Library, dollar for dollar, up to $2,000! Make a donation to The Library by cash, check, card, or online at ebonnerlibrary.org.

An individual taxpayer’s contribution to a public library is allowed as an itemized deduction on the federal return and on the Idaho State return. In addition, the taxpayer receives an Idaho tax credit for the contribution. This credit is also available to corporations who make a charitable contribution to a public library or library district located in Idaho.

Explore the world with Google Earth VR, swim in the deep sea, go on a virtual tour, play arcade style games or walk a plank suspended from an 80-story building — all from the safety of The Library! - StoryWalk — Pages from a children’s book are posted along a trail for a fun, family experience. - Clark Fork Autumn Reading Program for all ages. Read between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 and record the name of each book, full magazine, or book on tape with the author’s name.
