Sandpoint shortstop Bri Barlow signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Highline College on Nov. 8. Located 20 minutes south of Seattle in Des Moines, Wash., Highline College is a community college that plays in the Northwest Athletic Conference.

Barlow cited her club team coaches and managers, including Brandie and Mike Chapman, Shay Fusion and Vanessa Shippy for “(making softball) fun but also kept the focus on playing our best.”

She also gave special thanks to Don Don Williams, who taught her to slap hit, and Sandpoint head coach Liz Hawkins for running a great program and taking the team to the state tournament three years in a row.

“My coaches have such a commitment to the sport,” Barlow said. “Because of that, it allowed me this opportunity to receive a scholarship to play at the college level. I’m forever grateful to them.”

Barlow and the rest of the Bulldogs will be back in action this spring.
