MCC hosting holiday concert

HOPE — Pianist Del Parkinson will be featured at an upcoming Classical Christmas Concert at Memorial Community Center.

The event, which is free to the public, will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. at Memorial Community Center, Highway 200 and Centennial Road, in Hope. After the concert, the public is invited to enjoy Christmas cookies and beverages. The concert is a partnership between the Idaho Humanities Council and the center.

MCC is excited to be welcoming back pianist Del Parkinson who will be performing a classical Christmas piano concert with detailed commentary and PowerPoint presentation. His down-to-earth narration gives the background of each piece in order to heighten the listening experience. Parkinson is professor of piano at Boise State University and holds a doctorate degree in music from Indiana State University and a postgraduate diploma from the Julliard School. He has performed in Europe, Asia, Mexico, and throughout the United States.

The Idaho Humanities Council is an independent, nonprofit organization that serves as the state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
