Nov. 27, 1968 — SENIOR HIGH NEWS
Lettergirls were elected in the weekly Pep Club meeting Nov. 18. Those chosen to serve are Trudy Keaton, Cathy Butler, Debbie Lyons, Janice Burh, Cory Moon, Nita McCabe, JoAnn Peterson, Cheryl Peterson, and Pat Chronic. Junior alternates are Laurie Taylor and Gwen Wylie. JoAnn Perkins and Debbie Chronic will serve as the sophomore alternates.

IN SUPPORT OF THE BRIDGE BOND
Taxpaying residents of the City of Sandpoint will go to the polls next Tuesday, Dec. 3, to vote “yes” or “no” on the proposed bridge bond. If approved, the measure will authorize the city council to levy taxes for the actual cost of construction up to a maximum of $100,000.
After a careful review of the entire proposal, this newspaper strongly urges city taxpayers to give this measure their approval.

AIRLINE TO SERVE SANDPOINT
Sun Valley Airlines of Gooding is extending its daily turbo-prop flight service into Sandpoint effective Monday, Dec. 2. The North Idaho Travel Center is the local reservation, ticketing and baggage agent. The afternoon flight which will leave Sandpoint airport at 2:48 p.m. daily, will link with all major Idaho cities and Spokane.

Nov. 27, 1918 — BREAD PRICE FIXED
At a meeting of the price adjustment committee yesterday the price of bread was fixed at 10c but the price of other staples were fixed on a percentage basis.

CHANCE FOR POTATO RAISERS
It may be of interest to county potato growers that the government will soon call for bids for potatoes to use in the northwest military camps in January.

Our community has been unusually fortunate in almost entirely escaping the “flu” epidemic.
Mr. Ellis fumigated the schoolhouse the latter part of the week, preparatory to its reopening.
Ole Peterson had about 30 pounds of meat taken from his wagon at the Farmers’ market.

LOCAL BRIEFS
Practically all the city school buildings and some others in this district have flag poles. The flags will fly from the poles when school is in session, except in bad weather.
The new school history (books) to replace Nida’s work, which was condemned because of its pro-Germanism, have arrived. The new one is Atkinson’s “European and American History.”
Dr. Wendle of Hope was appointed county physician in place of Dr. McKinnon, who went into the military service.
