District honors Bridges, Brownell
Two West Bonner County School District employees, counselor Lynn Bridges and Priest River Junior High School secretary Erricka Brownell, have been honored by district as its top employees for September.
In order to support and recognize outstanding employees, the district implemented the employee recognition program to honor certified and classified individuals who exemplify its district vision – “strive for greatness,” district officials said in a press release.
In addition to public recognition, area businesses have donated awards to the individuals who are recognized.
Lynn Bridges received the first Certified Employee of the Month award for West Bonner County School District to kick off the school year. Bridges, the district’s lead counselor, is respected by all: students, teachers, staff, parents and community, West Bonner County School District officials said in making the announcement.
“She makes transitions into the junior high school and the high school much more enjoyable,” district officials said in a press release. “She works for the success of all, going above and beyond for students and colleagues, and truly ‘strives for greatness.’”
District officials praised Bridges, saying she is a highly skilled counselor/educator who has developed a district wide counseling curriculum for WBCSD schools, served on several key committees, and worked with the district’s homeless student population.
“Lynn Bridges has served the schools in this area for many years and our district is much richer for having her as a member of our learning communities,”
District officials said Bridges’ selection of the award was well deserved and congratuated her for her selection.
Priest River Junior High School secretary Erricka Brownell was selected as WBCSD’s Classified Employee of the Month for September.
Brownell does everything possible to make PRJH a better place for students and staff, working extra hours organizing and preparing the school for its day-to-day needs, district officials said in announcing the selection.
“She is thoughtful and encouraging to both staff and students, wisely offering advice and support,” they said in the release. “Mrs. Brownell assists students in thinking about their futures and their education.”
In addition, they praised Brownell as a key member of the PRJH learning community, adding they are happy to recognize her as an outstanding employee who embodies the district’s vision.
