Personally I am happy that the proposed signal light was turned down at Lakeshore and Highway 95. Can you imagine how that would bottle traffic up on Highway 95 and on the Long Bridge? How about building a large roundabout there? The roundabouts we currently have now seem to work just fine.
My son lives on the island of Guadeloupe in the French West Indies where the population is over 400,000 people and many automobiles. There is not one signal light on that island and according to my son the majority of traffic accidents are on the roads and highways not in the roundabouts. So why not have a roundabout at Lakeshore and Highway 95 to prevent the majority of the accidents that frequently happen there?
More food for thought for our local politicos who probably will not do anything about this existing problem if they hold true to form.
