Winter Ridge hosts PSW fundraiser

SANDPOINT — Community residents will have a chance to help the Pine Street Woods project by doing something they already do — shop for groceries.

Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 10, Winter Ridge Natural Foods will launch a point of sale program where customers will have the chance to donate to the Pine Street Woods. Checkers will be able to explain the project and literature will be available to give even more detail.

Funds raised during the month-long fundraising projects will be matched by a grant by the store’s owners.

Kaniksu Land Trust announced Saturday that it had raised the $2.1 million it needs to buy the property and begin initial improvements on the site. With the $2.1 million, the land trust will be able to buy the 160-acre property, expected to happen in January, create a permanent endowment for maintenance begin work on initial improvements to the property.
