Who counts it all joy when they face trials and tribulations? In our senior years we mostly want things to be easy and comfortable, but when we come up against challenges that destroy the good happenings around us we tend to bristle. It can exhaust our will and even break our spirit.

We don’t usually sweat the small stuff like we used to. For the most part we like to enjoy life. We try to encourage those around us to make good of whatever comes their way. In the last few years I’ve been given some serious condemnations, trial and test against some things that I deeply believe in. It has almost made me think that this is the end of the road, you know? “Why bother” “That makes me sick”

This brings me to the point! I am real saddened by the demise of the Sagle Senior Thrift Store and the Sagle Senior Center. This decision was made by one or not more than four people. The membership was not encouraged to be in on any discussion or proposed disbandment. Whenever I appeared on the scene, a mini meeting of four or five was held off to the side and then input was not asked for on pertinent issues that were to come along very soon.

When the 13-minute meeting was held to vote “yes” to sell the thrift store a little mini-meeting was held outside the kitchen door to warn new member of this “old troublemaker” in the midst. Not to worry guys, I’m not registered or wanted as a member. So my input wouldn’t mean diddly. I just drove nine miles to take 13 minutes of notes for several friends who asked me to. Sometimes the trials and tribulations of our life can feel like being in a pressure cooker. I’m not good at standing around waiting for some unknowledgeable do-gooder to put the lid on. For now, I’ve kind of decided to move on but not out of the way. With God’s help, I’ll find a new purpose in whatever he will allow. Good read — James 1:2-4.
