Week knocks entertainment ball out of the park
SANDPOINT — We’re knocking the ball right outta the park this week, with a little bit of anything and everything on the entertainment docket.
The action starts tonight with a director/writer Q&A following the screening of the film ‘Farmer of the Year’ at the Panida. Friday brings us the opening show of the POAC Performing Arts Series with the band Roosevelt Dime and our own BareGrass opening the evening. Also Friday, Mobius Riff at Eichardt’s Pub and a Contra dance at Community Hall.
Saturday is just plain nuts, starting with Fall for Sandpoint all day at downtown merchants, the Angels Over Sandpoint barn dance and the final day of Farmers Market.

Thursday, Oct. 11
‘Farmer of the Year’
Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.
Time: 7 p.m.
This showing features a live question-and-answer session with the director and writer. ‘Farmer of the Year’ is making its mark on the Festival Circuit. This mostly local duo will be here to talk it up and give insight into the making of this dramatic comedy. After aging farmer, Hap Anderson, loses his wife and sells the farm, he struggles to maintain his youth by road-tripping cross-country in a ‘73 Winnebago.

‘Backstage’ Volunteer Night

Roosevelt Dime & BareGrass

Opening the POAC Performing Arts Series, Roosevelt Dime blends syncopated New Orleans rhythms, boogie-woogie banjo, swinging blues guitar, and searingly soulful vocals. Join Roosevelt Dime and local favorite BareGrass for an earth-shaking show.

Sandpoint Contra Dance
