West, Icardo, Hernandez score twice in CF win

CLARK FORK — Dakota West, Theo Icardo and Nate Hernandez scored two touchdowns apiece, and Tobin Pincher and Cameron Garcia had big games defensively, as Clark Fork handled Timberline 45-12 in six-man football action on Friday night in Clark Fork.

Nate Hernandez had scoring runs of 35 and 15 yards, and West had a 75 yard kickoff return to lead the Wampus Cats (6-2), who are hoping to play for the playoffs next Friday after another solid road win.

“We got off to a fast start, with two scores in first three plays,” said Cats head coach Brian Arthun. “We only gave up one first down. Cameron had two interceptions, Tobin had four sacks and was in the backfield all night long. Josh Constantin had two sacks.”

Hernandez exploited the wide open six man expanses against a short-handed Timberline (0-6).

“Nate had a nice game, he used his speed at tailback to get the edge,” said Arthun, whose team led 39-6 at half. “Offensively we were able to control the line of scrimmage and make plays in the passing game.”

If No. 2 Kendrick beat Deary, it will set up a huge game next Friday night in Clark Fork, with playoffs on the line.

“I’m looking forward to next weekend. If they (Deary) lost to Kendrick, and if we pick up a win, we would secure the second playoff seed,” described Arthun. “It’s basically going to be a playoff game come Friday.”

Clark Fork hosts No. 4 Deary on Friday.
