Oct. 14, 1968 — ROUNSVILLE ON LEAVE

SP4 Richard Rounsville left by plane to return to Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone after a 30-day furlough spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rounsville, in Clark Fork. He has been at Ft. Clayton since July 1967.

GRAY NAMED DEPUTY COMMANDER

The 190th Air Force Reserve Officer training Corps cadet group, based at the University of Idaho, has announced its student staff with Leland Gray of Sandpoint as Deputy Group Commander. The corps trains students in Air Force procedures and enables them to enter service as commissioned officers. The staff is made up of the student leaders in Air Science.

Gray, a senior, is majoring in architecture.

Williams Motor Co. named recipients of door prizes during their recent new car showings.

Bernie McGovern received the luggage; Pete Caple was awarded a clock radio and Eleanor Selberg received a deep fat cooker.

BOOK HELPS WITH CEMENT DONATION

Sandpoint Kiwanis Club thanks Loren D. Book, Sandpoint Ice & Fuel, for his contribution to Camp Stidwell improvements. Book provided the cement used in concrete fireplaces and then refused to present a bill to the club.

Oct. 14, 1918 — SPANISH INFLUENZA

It is believed influenza is always spread from person to person, the germs carried in the air along with very small mucus droplets expelled by coughing or sneezing, forceful talking, and the like by one who already has the disease.

In most cases a person with influenza feels sick suddenly. He feels weak, has pains in his eyes, ears, head or back, and may be sore all over. Many patients feel dizzy, some vomit. Most complain of feeling chilly, with a fever of 100 to 104. The fever usually lasts 3-4 days and the patient recovers. But in some areas the outbreak has been severe and deaths have been numerous, usually the result of a complication.

Dr. Floyd Wendle, Physician and Surgeon, Member of State Board of Health, Candidate for Bonner County Coroner will locate in Sandpoint soon and solicits your vote on the grounds of efficiency and central location.

BREAD PRICES FIXED

State Food Administrator Bicknell has fixed the maximum price of bread at 9 cents, wholesale, and 10 cents retail, for the 16-ounce loaf unwrapped, and proportionate prices on other sizes. In no case can a retail dealer take more than one cent profit on a loaf of bread.
