SPORTS, a premier social club of mostly retired firefighters and law enforcement officers, supports Bonner County Commissioner Dan McDonald’s reelection.
On fiscal matters please review the April 20, 2018, letter penned by our distinguished Bonner County Clerk, Michael Rosedale, “Clerk details information on county’s budget numbers,” and the following passage: “The current board of county commissioners saw that the current financial trajectory was leading the county into a hard landing, and has responded aggressively to keep the county fiscally sound long-term.”
Regarding sometimes hysterical criticism of Commissioner McDonald regarding the Newport “smelter” controversy, some obviously do not understand that the smelter is jurisdictionally in another county in another state (Washington). We might look to our elected United States representatives and senators, as well as our Idaho governor and attorney general, to intervene with their Washington state counterparts on Idaho’s behalf in this contentious issue with health concerns for Idaho citizens.
I have personally known Dan for years and he is known as an astute businessman, which many “professional” government types are not.
Dan is a genuine supporter of the Second Amendment. Unlike his progressive Democratic party opponent, Dan is opposed to importing un-vetted Third World hellhole refugees (they could even be ISIS). He understands that their aberrant belief systems constitute a danger to local and national security, that could also set women’s rights back to the stone age.
Vote Dan McDonald on Nov. 6.
