Glen Edward Long, 92, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, in Sagle, Idaho.
Private family services have been held.
Glen was born on October 17, 1926, in Trenton, Nebraska, to Alvin and Sioux Long. He moved to Oden Bay when he was 8 years old and lived with Oliver and Kitty Long. At age 16, Glen went to work for the railroad.
Glen married Hattie Elizabeth Cork in 1948. He worked for Pack River Lumber Company and later retired from Spokane Lumber. He also fished commercially for bluebacks and generally came in with his limit.
Glen liked nothing better than a rip-roaring game of pinochle. He also enjoyed antelope hunting. He would always help a neighbor or family member in need. He was a great gardener and was proud of his butternut squash.
Glen is survived by his son, Michael Long of Post Falls; and two granddaughters, Judy Clark and Lorrie Hollar, both of Spokane, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hattie Long; his daughter, Virginia Moran; and three sisters, Meme Benda, Elsie Alt, and Iris Witt.
