Rita Eldora Miller

| October 30, 2018 1:00 AM

Rita Eldora Miller passed on Oct. 20, 2018.

She was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Albert and Lucy Loudenback, the fourth of five children (Albert, Ira, Frances Fritz, Ilene Metcalf). All four preceded her in death.

Rita married James Robert Miller in December 1948. They lived in several towns in the North-west because of Jim’s work on the Northern Pacific Railway. Sandpoint, Idaho, became their permanent residence in 1958. Jim preceded her in death in 1986.

Rita was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She did volunteer janitorial work and arranged flowers in the old Baptist church and some in the new Baptist church.

You could see Rita in her yard almost every day tending to her flowers. If someone drove by and honked, she gave a wave and it made her day.

Rita loved people and had empathy for the elderly. Anyone who came to visit always got fed or came away with a bag of goodies.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Bob) Steffen.

Her memorial will be Nov. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Coffelt Funeral Chapel.

Family and friends are invited to sign Rita’s online guestbook at coffeltfuneral.com

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
