Fall into fun in week packed with entertainment
SANDPOINT — School has started and there’s a decided snap in the morning air — the page is about to turn into a new season! Fortunately for lovers of all things cultural, it’s also chock-full of fun.
Tonight, catch the comedy show on the 219 Lounge patio. Friday and Saturday, the fabulous ‘Hearts Wide Open’ continues at the Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry and Saturday morning brings the Taste of the Market festivities at Sandpoint Farmers Market.
Lovers of classic cars will want to take in the Injectors Car Show downtown on Saturday, while Sunday afternoon features pianist Annie Welle on the gorgeous grand at Pend d’Oreille Winery.

Comedy on the Patio

Join local comic Austin Langley and a host of regional comics for a night of laughs as Austin prepares to ride his bicycle from Sandpoint to Los Angeles raising funds and awareness for World Bicycle Relief, an organization dedicated to providing bicycles to developing countries.

Northwest Cornhole Classic

Cornhole kings and queens will be taking to outdoor court or inside the brewery where up to four regulation courts will be set up to test your tossin’ abilities in a double elimination tournament. New – There are now two divisions: Open division for the competitive, advanced players and social division for the regular ol’ backyard players looking for fun. Open Division players consistently score more than 6 points per round.

‘Giving Goes A Long Way’ Local Cancer Benefit

The community is invited to a benefit for a local mother of three battling cancer, Gabrielle Easton, a valued member of the Sandpoint community. Highlights of the evening will also include live music, silent auction, raffle drawings, and live auction items throughout the evening.

‘Talking Pictures’ art reception

Inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit, ‘Talking Pictures: Camera Phone Conversations Between Artists,’ Sandpoint artists bring you their interpretation of this innovative exhibition. A group of three pairs of artists came together in early February 2018 to begin a ‘visual dialogue’ through digital communication.

The Lark & The Loon Concert
Venue: DiLuna’s Cafe, 207 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

The Lark and the Loon are a songwriting duo consisting of husband/wife team Jeff Rolfzen and Rocky Steen-Rolfzen. The two bring their distinct writing styles together in what they call an exploration in the etymology of American music. They take inspiration from prewar blues and jazz, Irish dance music, sea shanties, and traditional American music as well. Their debut album ‘Songbirds and Fog’ was recorded in their cabin home in the Ozarks after a period of heavy isolation and was met with critical acclaim. Heralded for their harmonies, duets, and musicianship the two have enjoyed touring extensively both in the United States and abroad.

Sandpoint Contra Dance

Celebrate the turn of the season and the joys of community by dancing with friends – those you already know and the new ones you’re about to meet! Live music and lively callers. Beginners and singles welcome. Previous dancing experience is not necessary. First-time dancers are encouraged to arrive on time for an introductory dance at 7 pm.
